ONE HUNGRY SOUL
yearning to help others find food
Hello
My name is Amy

Pain insists upon being attended to. God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our consciences, but shouts in our pains.
C S Lewis
These well known words mirror my experience the last couple of years. It is in the darkest moments where I hear my loving creator most clearly and the agonizing process of change has its origin. I am grateful and humbled that such an abundant mercy is extended allowing these difficult seasons to be forever devoted to our benefit.
It is promised that when we seek, we find. And boy have I been finding. It is so humbling that when I beseech my creator with yet another heavy question, sometimes within hours I have a response that nourishes my hungry soul. The response may come through the word of a loved one, a stranger, a scripture, a song, an illustration in my daily life or a still small voice. But all the same, I am left encouraged and feeling so wholly cared for.
With ease humankind can recall our negative interactions or experience, but it takes great intentionality to remember and celebrate the good. One of three weapons we have in the fight against darkness is the word of our testimony - our stories of goodness. So here are mine.
I am not special. Many others have journeyed paths much more spectacular and difficult than mine. I have nothing particularly brilliant to offer. But God is wonderful. I read through my journals and see His hand weaving such beauty through my fumbling awkwardness and to Him be all the glory. I am sharing this in the hopes that my stories draw you closer to the One who created and loves you fully, our refuge, our ever present help in times of trouble.
Welcome
