Finally! A smile

A young couple was walking towards me on the way into work this morning. They got closer and I noticed he was walking strangely. It was then I noticed the funny grin on his face and that he was actually dancing. My polite grin that I love to give fellow walkers turned into a full blown smile as I saw his selfless love for humanity expressed outwardly. 

“Finally! A smile” I heard him joyfully proclaim behind me. 

How sad, that it was ‘finally’ that he got a smile…

So often we have our eyes down in our small insular worlds. Even if not on our phones, usually we are thinking about a million things and sadly others are often the last thing on our minds. 

I am so thankful for that young man, what a gift he gives by being silly in the street, for the singular reason of bringing joy to others.

Lord, let my heart prepare room

And my life make a way
