it’s up to each of us

I may think differently tomorrow, but for today, I've been mulling over how our apprenticeship to Jesus is largely our own responsibility. At the end of time, it will not be valid to say 'well, the church hurt me' or 'they did not cater to my needs' or 'the gospel wasn't presented exactly to my preferences'. It really is up to each of us to seek to know, follow and be like Jesus for ourselves.

What freedom to understand that I am just a willing and available conduit, but not the driving force. Oh I will still strive to love as He loves me, but I am freed to trust Him with the gathering as I simply obey.
