The tale of three buildings -Part 2

I frequently drive past construction sites and barely notice them. They’re messy, complicated, busy places, far too much to sensibly process as I drive by.

However one particular corner site gave me pause last week. The area had been a mess of construction so long I’d become accustomed to the untidy hive of activity, but now - it was completely different.

Calm, serene, handsome and stately.

That’s when I realized the scaffolding was down, the skips removed and the footpath swept clean. It was finished and it was lovely.

Behind the scaffolding, countless hours of steady faithful work had occurred in forming this strong building.

Oh I’m sure there were setbacks, supply issues and over scheduling and undoubtedly the project was extraordinarily costly. However the end result was beautiful.

I am vibing with the scaffolded site these days. I long for the day when I stand strong, beautifully transformed. But for now, please quickly drive me by as I try not to ruin the landscape with my unsightly formation. I’m conscious that my messy debris sometimes falls into the street drains - I will do my best to clear it up. I see some of my polystyrene insulation skipping down the road in the nor-westers. I know it’s noisy and dusty, and the timing of comings and goings can be an inconvenience. Thank you for your grace and patience while I am being formed. It's not comfortable, or pretty, but the end result will be worth it.

I look forward to chatting with you at the neighbourhood party when my Creator decides it is time to remove my scaffolding.
