Sweet Sin

My body craves sweet food after everything I eat. Even if it’s a snack, I want a snack dessert. I also know that once I brush my teeth, the craving for something sugary disappears.
Even with this knowledge, I often choose eating a sweet treat over of the freshness of clean teeth - and the health benefits that correspond. Because I like sugar.
I liken this to sin. I know quite well how to avoid sin. My equivalent of brushing my teeth in relation to sin is to avoid certain situations and changing the channel in my thought patterns. Problem is, like sweeties, I also like to indulge in unhealthy thought patterns. They feel justified. I deserve to have them.
But these thought patterns, and my sugary sweets will never lead to the life I want - to be healthy and whole.
Lord. I don’t want diabetes. Please help me to remember to choose the healthy fresh minty option after I eat. Lord I also want your best for me, please remind me that the result of sin is the opposite of the life you offer me.
I’m so thankful you get me, and you love me.
I’m thankful you made a way that we can be in relationship when I have cavities and fillings. You are truly the best.
