thank you for your patience

A beautiful truth finally began the descent from my head to my heart this afternoon, and I am so thankful. We can hear good things over and over, and think we believe them, however often our deepest thoughts and actions betray our unbelief. On the battlefield that is our souls, healthy and whole sentiments often lose ground to our unexamined history and experience. Cheapening our ‘truth’. 

I am starting to grasp that Jesus really did come to bring life. Life in its fullness.

It’s just not the fullness I thought it should be. Full life is not the absence of pain and suffering. Full life in Jesus is the assurance of His presence and provision IN the pain. 

The full life God extends stipulates that the pain be reclaimed. The suffering be repurposed. It demands that beauty comes from ashes. As if that isn’t enough, in the midst of this process we can find ourselves closer still to the strong and steady beating heart of our loving Creator. 

Thank you for your unending patience Lord, I am so glad you know how slow this process is.
